- Shingle-roofed houses refer to the houses in which slash-and-burn farmers used to live in the backwoods in Gangwon Province. Their roofs are made with the thick pine trees cut appropriately, as if they were roof tiles. Seeing the shingled-roof house on the inside, one can see the sky but the roof does not leak rain. This is a video which introduces the shingle-roofed houses which bear today’s wisdom of life in a rough natural environment.
