The East Wing of the Deoksugung Palace’s Seokjojeon Hall is the modern stone architecture which was built as the main hall of the imperial house after King Gojong proclaimed the Joseon Dynasty(1392-1910) the Daehan Empire in 1897. The building is decorated in places with the patterns of plum blossom, the symbol of the Daehan Empire. In 2014, the Seokjojeon Hall was restored into its old original form and has since been used as the Daehan Empire History Museum
